Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Digba Ogunbiyi showed an early gift for rhythm, playing drums in church by age seven. He studied at Peter King College of Music and the Music Society of Nigeria before earning a degree from the University of Lagos, where he became an active presence in the Nigerian music scene, performing with artists including Lagbaja, Etuk Ubong, and The Cavemen at major festivals such as the Lagos Jazz Festival and Abuja International Jazz Festival. In 2017, he moved to the U.S., studying at New Jersey City University and later pursuing a DMA at the Eastman School of Music under Gary Versace. Ogunbiyi has performed nationwide with artists including John Benitez and Clay Jenkins. His 2020 debut album, Ade’digba, blends Yoruba rhythms with Western harmonies, reflecting his global musical voice.
