Nat Janoff is a guitarist, composer, and educator active in the contemporary jazz scene for over 15 years. He began his musical studies on piano and bass before focusing on guitar, initially gaining recognition for his rock and metal playing. Inspired to pursue improvisation more deeply, he transitioned to jazz and earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University. Janoff has developed a distinctive voice as both a performer and composer, blending influences from jazz fusion and modern improvisation. His debut album Looking Through, featuring bassist Matthew Garrison and drummer Gene Lake, established him as an emerging artist in the jazz community.
