DESCRIPTION:Digba Ogunbiyi is a Nigerian-born pianist\, composer\, and bandleader from Lagos. Drawn to rhythm from an early age\, he began making music at five and started playing drums in church by age seven. He studied at the Peter King College of Music and the Musical Society of Nigeria before earning a degree from the University of Lagos\, where he became an active voice in Nigeria’s jazz scene\, performing with artists such as Lagbaja\, Etuk Ubong\, and The Cavemen at major festivals including Lagos and Abuja International Jazz Festivals. Digba later trained in the U.S.\, studying at New Jersey City University and earning a Master’s degree before being admitted to the Eastman School of Music for a DMA. His debut album\, Ade’digba (2020)\, blends Yoruba rhythms with Western harmony.
