This performance features Chicago-native pianist Brandon McCune and trumpet virtuoso Wallace Roney Jr. McCune is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, musical director, and educator who has worked with jazz legends like Abbey Lincoln, Wynton Marsalis, and Betty Carter. Joining him is Roney Jr., a rising star on the New York scene and Oberlin Conservatory graduate. The son of jazz royalty—trumpeter Wallace Roney Sr. and pianist Geri Allen—Roney Jr. has shared stages with Chick Corea and Ornette Coleman. Together, these two powerhouse artists bring a rich musical legacy and dynamic, soulful artistry to the Summer Jazz Cafe.
