Diego Hedez (Diego Miguel Hernández González) is a Cuban trumpeter, composer, and improviser from Remedios whose work bridges Afro-Cuban traditions, Latin jazz, and avant-garde music. Trained at Cuba’s prestigious National School of Arts, he developed his artistic voice through collaborations with leading musicians and performances across Cuba’s major stages and jazz venues. His debut album, Distante, showcases his original compositions and deep connection to Caribbean musical traditions. Since relocating to New Jersey in 2023, Hedez has expanded his international presence, collaborating with innovative artists and pursuing projects that blend free improvisation, contemporary jazz, and Latin American musical expression.
