Digba Ogunbiyi is a Nigerian-born drummer and composer whose work bridges Yoruba musical traditions and contemporary jazz. He began playing drums in church at a young age and later studied at Peter King College of Music and the Musical Society of Nigeria. While attending the University of Lagos, he became active in the Nigerian music scene, performing with leading artists and appearing at major jazz festivals. He later continued his studies in the United States, earning a master’s degree from New Jersey City University and pursuing doctoral studies at the Eastman School of Music. Ogunbiyi has collaborated with a range of artists internationally and leads his own ensemble, showcasing an eclectic and rhythmically driven musical voice.
