Stew Cutler is a jazz, blues, and gospel guitarist and composer with a career spanning more than four decades. A bandleader with eight recordings as a leader, Cutler has also appeared on countless sessions as a sideman. His collaborations include Percy Sledge, Eddie Floyd, Wilson Pickett, Fontella Bass, David Sanborn, Bill Frisell, Lester Bowie, and Charlie Hunter, among many others. Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, Cutler began touring professionally at 19 with blues legend Z.Z. Hill. He later became part of the vibrant Woodstock, NY music scene, working with bassist Harvey Brooks and many notable artists. Cutler’s playing can be heard on soundtracks for The Irishman and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. His most recent album, The Blues From Another Angle, showcases his soulful, genre-bridging voice.
